Home › Adrenal Fatigue Forum › General Questions › how long does it take?
Hi Fawne and thanks so much for all the info on your site. I have been suffering from adrenal fatigue (I think) for a few years, since my first child was born and I took on a lot more responsibility at work.
I think I’m doing all the right things – diet, exercise, supplementation, sleep etc. And I think its starting to help. But what I really want to know is, how long do I need to continue with this? Is there a point at which I can say, “right, I’m cured”? At some point can I reintroduce some ‘treat’ foods and perhaps sleep a little less? Just wondering… thanks!
Hi Tim! That’s really one of those ‘how long is a piece of strong’ questions. It depends on so much, including how bad your adrenal fatigue was to start, which therapies you are using to treat it, how committed you are, and whether you have any other conditions. However, you should expect to follow the plan for at least a few months before you start getting to where you want to be.
One thing I would say is that you should take the healthiest elements from Fawne’s plan and apply them to your long term lifestyle, even after you have recovered from adrenal fatigue. This will not only keep your energy high and prevent a relapse, but it will also help to prevent all kinds of other diseases and conditions. So… stick to a healthy diet, get some exercise every day, use supplements where necessary to ‘fill the gaps’, and get enough sleep. Those are lessons that should be taken and used forever!
Do you find yourself constantly fatigued, and struggling to get out of bed in the mornings? Do you feel unable to cope with stressful situations? If so, you might be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.
