Home › Adrenal Fatigue Forum › General Questions › Is it normal to feel well one day, but bedridden the next?
I’m 65 yrs. old woman and I’ve been on Adrenal Fatigue treatment for 5 months, via an Holistic Practitioner. After having all of the lab tests, I’m on bioavailable hormones, estriol/estradiol, progesterone–along with methylated B Complex, Dhea (Pos. MTHFR Factor)and B12. Also I’m taking Nature-Thyroid, pregnenolone and hydrocortisone. I’m working on a gluten free diet, as well. I’m told I have Stage 2 adrenal fatigue, although, it feels much worse than that. My first three months there was not much improvement at all. I was pretty much bed ridden. Then eventually, I noticed sporadic better days, but they were very inconsistent. Now going into the fifth month I had a burst of well being with energy for a few days. I thought finally we’re getting somewhere! Then soon after I went right back to where I started with debilitating fatigue, staying in bed, weakness and malaise. Is this normal to have such drastic up and downs or should one start feeling better and stay that way? If so, how long until you stay consistently stronger? It’s so discouraging to feel a difference and think things are working and then back to bed! Does age contribute to healing time? I’d appreciate any opinions you may have on this. Thank you!
Hi depleted1, it’s not at all uncommon to have good and bad days. Try your hardest to figure out what you did differently on/before those days that might have contributed to the relapse. Write a diary to note down the food that you ate, the activities you did, the supplements that you took. After a month or two of doing this, you might notice something that could be causing your problems. It could be a food sensitivity, a reaction to a particular supplement, or even a change in your regular sleep habits.
I too wonder about the good days that follow the bad one. I feel TERRIBLE, can’t move or get out of bed, see any light, hear any noise, and lay there wishing to die…. for about 9 hours. The next day I can clean the house, wash the floors, do 5 loads of laundry, walk the dog…ANYTHING I want. It’s a weird condition.
Do you find yourself constantly fatigued, and struggling to get out of bed in the mornings? Do you feel unable to cope with stressful situations? If so, you might be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.
