Home › Adrenal Fatigue Forum › General Questions › confused about fruit
I have a question regarding eating fruit in the mornings. I have heard conflicting reports about how it can affect your blood sugar and possibly lead to adrenal fatigue.
The thing is, I absolutely love eating lots of fruit in the mornings. Either by itself, with oatmeal or with yogurt. Could this be making me feel more tired? Any thoughts?
By the way I typically some combination of berries (blueberries/strawberries), bananas and grapes. Not sure if that makes a difference or not, but I thought I should mention it!
One of the functions of the adrenal glands is to stabilize blood sugar levels. It’s better to eat lower glycemic fruit like berries, green apples, and pears. Fruit like watermelon, bananas, grapes, and dates will put more stress on already stressed adrenal glands.
You can eat bananas, but keep them to a minimum. Eating too many foods high in potassium causes an electrolyte imbalance, which causes further decreased adrenal function.
Do you find yourself constantly fatigued, and struggling to get out of bed in the mornings? Do you feel unable to cope with stressful situations? If so, you might be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.
