Home › Adrenal Fatigue Forum › General Questions › Inositol strong reaction
I have really severe adrenal fatigue caused by longterm stress and anxiety/OCD.
I can’t tolerate almost any meds right now. I have many neurological symptoms which the meds always worsen (MRI clear). I have twitching, stiffness and severe restlessness/racing thoughts.
I tried Inositol but felt stoned and almost psychotic on 2 g, thought about quiting but I went down to 500 mg instead. My bulimia (from my crash) is gone in just 3 days, no heart palpitations (before I could take beta blockers x 3 daily without even getting close to this effect). I feel strangely able to relax today but also a bit “OCD-anxious” about the calming effect because it can provoke a feeling of derealization.
Because I react strongly I’m thinking about going down to 500 mg every other day instead of every day. I also take 1000 mg taurine occasionally. I didn’t like the stone feeling but because my body seems less stressed (low blood pressure, less muscle twitches etc) I think I should continue?
Have you tried herbal teas, or adaptogens like Ashwagandha? They might be good options if inositol or other treatments are too strong for you.
Do you find yourself constantly fatigued, and struggling to get out of bed in the mornings? Do you feel unable to cope with stressful situations? If so, you might be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome.
