Hi folks.
I had thought I was recovered in 2015 when I felt good enough to return to work. My natural MD had me on injectible cortisol, b12 and folic acid injectible. I also found a good natural oral adrenal supplement from one of my vitamin companies.
But they put me on nights and immediately I began throwing up weekly, ( duodenal ulcer since 2009, was hospitaluzed for it in 2011 after which my doc started the adrenal protocol) . I powered through my new job for a year until I was expelling frank blood and fainted at home, knocking out a tooth. They gave me 5 pints of whole blood and it still brought my hemoglobin up to 10. ( Low normal for women is 11). I had been controlling my ulcer before with pepcid and the hospital out me on prilosec, which normally like last time, quit taking as soon as I got out. Not this time. I haven’t been able to get off it since June if 2015. I am a nurse. So I know prilosec users have a high mortality within 5 years. Well, I found out why. Prilosec doesn’t just destroy proton pumps in the stomach. They are in all the cells, and specifically in mitochondria. So it’s destroying mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cells. My original ulcer and adrenal issue came, I believe, from vaccine injury ( I retook my childhood vaccines to get into nursing school in 2003). This caused immediately chrnic diarrhea, over 12 times a day for 13 years. Finally stopped it with MSM and TMG. Then gained huge amount of weight. That while I was on Prilosec in 2016. So I have tapered 20 mg down to 10 mg but couldn’t go below that without throwing up. Now have capsules that I opened and using a tiny spoon for measuring such things , am down to 8-9 mg for several weeks. So that’s something. Taking PQQ and green tea to rebuild mitochondria. Taking Pau d’arco for ulcer. I have tried at least 50 herbs and nutrients to heal that ulcer. It’s called ” refractory” because it didn’t heal in 8 weeks. No H pylori, possibly because I am on so much anti pylori herbs and nutrients.
So I feel a tiny difference with the Pau d’arco, so I hope it helps. But I am afraid if I can’t get off the Prilosec, that will shut down all my life functions. I almost went after I fainted but my hubby brought me back and sent me to the hospital by careflight. I was good with dying last time, and I still am, but for the sake of my husband I stayed. He sounded like a lost little boy calling 911.
If I have to live nonfunctioning I would just rather give up. But for him I am trying.July 10, 2018 at 8:46 am #14769AnnabelKeymasterAre you taking Prilosec because of heartburn? Heartburn can often be caused by insufficient stomach acid, which prevents the valve between your stomach and gut from opening. Have you tried taking probiotics to help rebalance your digestive system? Long term use of antacids can really mess up digestion and have lots of other effects on your health.
You should consider taking some time off work too. Resting, relaxing, and getting on a regular schedule would help a great deal.
Hang in there 🙂
