Hi Kenneth. It certainly sounds like you have been experiencing chronic stress, and it has probably contributed or caused many of the health problems you mention.
From what you say, you are already making improvements to your diet. However, you don’t mention any deep breathing, meditation, or other mind-body techniques. Using these once or twice a day may help to get your stress levels (and cortisol) down. They will help you sleep better too.
Here are a couple of links that might help:

Once you have tried some of these ideas, please send us a note through the forum to let us know how you’re doing!
September 10, 2015 at 1:39 am in reply to: Is it normal to feel well one day, but bedridden the next? #3912Fawne HansenKeymasterHi depleted1, it’s not at all uncommon to have good and bad days. Try your hardest to figure out what you did differently on/before those days that might have contributed to the relapse. Write a diary to note down the food that you ate, the activities you did, the supplements that you took. After a month or two of doing this, you might notice something that could be causing your problems. It could be a food sensitivity, a reaction to a particular supplement, or even a change in your regular sleep habits.
Fawne HansenKeymasterHi Svetlana! I looked up Natural Calm and I see that it contains magnesium citrate. Magnesium glycinate is usually the best absorbed type of magnesium, and gives the fewest side effects.
Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water too.
And also make sure that you are getting enough salt – if you cut it back too much, low sodium levels could be a factor in your headaches. I hope that helps!
Fawne HansenKeymasterIt sounds like you’re on the right track! Thanks for the update. Glad you’re feeling better 🙂
Fawne HansenKeymasterHi Vicejab,
Thanks so much for sharing your story. The thyroid and adrenal glands are actually very closely linked, so often weakened adrenals (and HPA axis) are confused with hypothyroidism, and vice versa. That’s why testing adrenal function AND thyroid function is always a great idea.
Anyway, it sounds like you’re on the right track! Enough rest and a healthy diet can solve all kinds of health problems. And the meditation that you are doing is likely helping to reduce the stress that you were suffering from.
Just make sure that you have a plan for when you restart school. Keep your exercise to a reasonable amount, reduce your study load where possible, manage your time better, continue to eat well. The temptation will be to revert back to your old habits, but just try to remember how good you are feeling now, and you’ll be OK.
Best,
