My name is Fawne Hansen, and I originally set up this blog after experiencing a long period of stress in my life that started to really affect my health. My mission was to share the lessons that I learned along the way, and give you the tools you need to cope with stress and live your life to the full!
Who Am I?
They say that what you do defines who you are. I spend my days with my two beautiful kids and wonderful husband, making the most of our hometown, Vancouver BC. I love to get outside with my family, and at the weekends you can regularly find us hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, visiting farmers markets, searching out new food trucks, and walking along the seawall (OK… not all on the same weekend!). At home, I love to cook for my family using fresh, local organic food, and designing low-sugar desserts that still taste great!
Why Adrenal Fatigue?
Why is adrenal fatigue the specific focus of my blog? I know from personal experience how an extended period of chronic stress can lead to symptoms like fatigue, feelings of being overwhelmed, food cravings, and all kinds of seemingly unrelated problems. It took a long time, lots of research, and many, many conversations with healthcare professionals before I was able to recognize the underlying problem.
My own personal experience with stress began while I was living abroad, working in a high-pressure job, and taking care of my first child… all at the same time! I struggled with fatigue for years, and spoke to countless unreceptive MDs, before finally finding an integrative doctor who recognized my symptoms as adrenal fatigue.
After a variety of tests (most of which are rarely used in conventional medicine) I found deficiencies in my cortisol levels, thyroid levels and more. Over time, and with the help of lifestyle improvements, dietary changes, supplementation and more, my energy levels returned to normal.
This blog is my attempt to share all the knowledge about chronic stress and adrenal fatigue that I have picked up over the years. I share dietary tips, lifestyle solutions, recipes, and everything I know about stress management techniques.
My goal? To help a few of my readers alleviate some of the stresses in their life, and perhaps improve their health a little too.
Thanks so much for reading, and don’t hesitate to get in touch! I hope to see you around, and you can follow me on Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Pinterest.
