We’ve received so much positive feedback since releasing The Adrenal Fatigue Solution, that I thought it would be great to compile some of the testimonials on this page. If you have read the book yourself and have some feedback that you’d like to send our way, please let us know!
The book is fabulous. So well executed and organized into all the environmental and societal influences contributing to Adrenal Fatigue. I think it should be a continuing education module for RD’s, Nurses, and physicians.
There are two books in the Adrenal Fatigue Solution package. While the first one has a lot of technical information in it (that a foggy brain may take a few go’s at digesting), it also has this fabulous section at the end for what to do about adrenal fatigue. Then there was my favourite bit: the recipe book. If you get to the point where you can’t think through the foggy brain, there’s nothing better than having someone spell it out for you. This is what to do. This is what to eat. This is how to cook it (Winner for a terrible domestic failure like me!)
Adrenal Fatigue sucks. So its really nice to have someone spell out the solution for you. The research has already been done for you.
You don’t know how much I appreciate your new book, The Adrenal Fatigue Solution. I have been undergoing unrelenting stress for 7 years. I haven’t understood why I cry, have so little energy, and am irritable all the time. Now I do, and I know how to cope. Your selfless efforts in gathering this book’s information are so generous. Thank you and God bless you. I love you for your help.
Your ebook is very well written and helpful – a perfect balance between scientific facts (giving readers a chance to fully understand this condition) and easy-to-read tips on how to regain vitality. With so little information out there about adrenal fatigue, I found it very useful and really enjoyed reading it.
If you are interested in learning about adrenal fatigue and to find out if you have it, I highly recommend The Adrenal Fatigue Solution by Fawne Hansen and Dr. Eric Wood. It is an excellent, thorough book about this widespread condition that doctors just aren’t treating. This book shows you how to heal your adrenal fatigue for good.
The Adrenal Fatigue Solution gives solid information on what adrenal fatigue is and how to heal from it. The book starts by explaining some necessary medical terms and then moves into giving very practical advice for healing from AFS.
Don’t skip the first half even though the terms may be difficult to grasp initially. My experience has found that knowing these terms helps tremendously in healing because, over time, you develop a more detailed knowledge of what’s happening in your body. This comes in handy when doing follow-up research and talking with medical professionals. In this respect, knowledge truly is power.
I could go on about how the information in this book is helpful, but I’ll simply say this: If you suffer from constant fatigue, high levels of stress and sleep problems, The Adrenal Fatigue Solution will help you regardless of whether or not you receive an official AFS diagnosis. Its well-worth the cost simply for the time it will save you in having to research this information on your own.
Here’s what I loved about The Adrenal Fatigue Solution:
1. The Science: If you’re one of those people who wants to know how and why everything works, this is the book for you. Fawne talks about all of the systems in the body that work with and for the adrenal system, as well as how they affect each other. Honestly, I’m not a science person so I skimmed this, but it’s the type of information my husband loves.
2. The Breakdown: Not only does this book explain different levels of adrenal fatigue, it even offers suggestions for exercise, diet, and lifestyle based on each level (e.g. I was in Stage 4 – the worst stage – and I should not have been trying to do something as vigorous as CrossFit, I should have been doing something less stressful, like stretching).
3. The Guidance: The book doesn’t simply say, “Get a B-complex vitamin.” Fawne and Dr. Eric tell you which types of vitamins are better than others (without pitching you a specific brand). They also explain how AF can be missed or misdiagnosed by many doctors (as was mine).
I’ve read through the book once and am excited to go through it again – this time with a pen and paper so I can make myself notes about the foods to eat, the foods to avoid, the vitamins I need, and more.
Before I read The Adrenal Fatigue Solution, I was pretty depressed – I was still sluggish and still struggling with this weight gain and still needing my supplements. Now I’m hopeful – I see how I’ve been exercising wrong for my energy level, and how my diet has been fighting against my supplements. Not all of these changes are going to be easy, but now I know how I can start to improve my own health. It’s so encouraging to know that I have more control than I realized!
If you’re looking for a basic, easy to read book on AFS, check out The Adrenal Fatigue Solution. You will learn, without any smugness or eye-glazing wording:
~ What the adrenals are and what they do
~ What AFS is, symptoms, and how it progresses
~ Foods to eat and foods to avoid
~ How to find a doctor to help you
~ Helpful supplements
~ The basics of bio identical hormonal treatments
It’s not an intimidating book, and it provides some concrete ideas on how to begin feeling better and how to begin structuring your life to relieve the stresses causing your symptoms. Although sadly, there is no advice in the book on how to convince your husband to pick up his dirty underwear, I feel confident that if you are new to AFS and feeling overwhelmed, this is a book you will appreciate.
I just got this book. It is excellent, the “next generation” of books on this topic. I highly recommend it!
I just finished reading this incredibly comprehensive, clear, and helpful book on adrenal fatigue. Highly, highly recommended: The Adrenal Fatigue Solution.
Fawne Hansen’s The Adrenal Fatigue Solution is a practical guide for healing adrenal fatigue. It is both easy to understand and extremely informative. It really is the perfect all-round guide to Adrenal Fatigue.
Fawne Hansen is a former Adrenal Fatigue sufferer who has spent a number of years researching this complex health issue. Fawne has extensive practical knowledge in the treatment of stress and fatigue and draws on personal strategies she has used throughout treating her own adrenal fatigue. Dr Eric Wood is a licensed Naturopathic doctor and co-writes The Adrenal Fatigue Solution with Fawne. Eric has significant experience in many different areas of Integrative and Mind and Body Medicine and has specialist training in the Adrenal Fatigue sphere.
As you know, here at Healed by Bacon, we suffer from Adrenal Fatigue and whilst we blog about our journey to recovery, it is still ongoing. If only we had read Fawne’s book at the beginning – it would have saved us a huge amount of time researching and trying to find answers to why we were feeling this way.
The Adrenal Fatigue Solution provides the most detailed, holistic approach on the subject that we have come across so far. The book puts everything you need to know about Adrenal Fatigue in a clear, cohesive order that really helps you understand the complexity of the disease.
But whilst it is easy to understand, it is in no way simplistic. The Adrenal Fatigue Solution provides the right amount of information and detail you require to work out where you are on the Adrenal Fatigue spectrum and what processes are going on in your body. The emphasis on the fact that everyone’s suffering and healing process is different really demonstrates Fawne and Eric’s experience with the disease.
Unlike the mainstream medical treatment for Adrenal Fatigue we receive – “just take these pills and stress less” or “you are in the normal range, so nothing is wrong with you” (and that’s even if your doctor actually recognizes adrenal fatigue) – The Adrenal Fatigue Solution provides a detailed, holistic treatment plan. The guidelines make sense, but also provide the underlying reasons and our body’s reactions, as to how the treatments are beneficial. Fawne and Dr. Eric present case studies, questionnaires and a comprehensive reference list to further your personal research on the topic.
The Adrenal Fatigue Solution also takes us through a biology lesson to understand what processes are driving our Adrenal Fatigue. Fawne and Dr. Eric explain that to understand the whole picture, we must first understand our bodies’ hormonal reactions to the stressors we face. But it doesn’t feel like you are reading a textbook – Fawne and Dr. Eric have a relaxed, humorous approach to educating us on such a complex problem.
The Adrenal Fatigue Solution really is the perfect source for understanding adrenal fatigue and how to recover from such a complex health issue.
Adrenal fatigue crept up slowly on me until I reached the point where I could no longer ignore the debilitating tiredness and lack of enthusiasm for activity. For me reaching this depleted state (as a result of prolonged stress over several years) is an opportunity for me to reassess my lifestyle and make much needed changes. Following the dietary and lifestyle advice in this excellent book I am steadily creating a much healthier body and mind and a more energized life.
Thank you for writing this book which I hope will reach an audience far and wide. Its sensible guidelines need to be heard at a time when the pace of life has become too fast for many people.
This is one of the newer and more comprehensive books on the subject [Adrenal Fatigue]. It’s put together in a clear form that’s easy to understand for someone who’s not a healthcare professional, and is also neatly tied together at the end to help the reader put together his/her own plan for recovery.
Some of the other books I’ve read focus more on reducing stress, or on diet, almost to the exclusion of everything else. Many don’t even mention hormone replacement therapy, which is important because all of these systems work together, and may be the missing piece, particularly for people of a certain age.
This book is nicely balanced, and what I really liked was its reasonable approach to exercise that recognizes that someone with adrenal fatigue is too tired to do much physical activity. This book gives a good baby-steps way to begin a workout routine that won’t overtax the adrenal glands, and even gives some simple deep-breathing starter exercises.
Recommended for anyone who thinks they may be dealing with adrenal fatigue, or who simply wants to learn more about it.
